31% of Tech Workers Say They Will #DeleteFacebook

Much of last week was dominated by the story of the voter-profiling company, Cambridge Analytica, which collected data of up to 50 million Facebook users. During this time, we surveyed users of Blind, asking them if they now plan to delete their Facebook account given the recent events. The survey ran from March 20, 2018 through March 24, 2018 and more than 2,600 users responded, with 31% answering ‘YES’ and 69% answering ‘NO.’

We then created a chart of the responses of the top 5 tech companies (as calculated by highest volume of responses) as well as the responses from Facebook employees. For companies to be included in the ‘Top 5’ at least 50 employees from that company had to respond to the survey.

Will 31% of tech workers really delete their Facebook accounts? Only time will tell.
