Survey Result: Average Approval Rating for Tech CEOs Is a Close 7 Out of 10

How do you rate your current CEO on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the most positive? This was Blind’s latest survey question, which ran from June 10 through June 20, 2018. We received a total of 5,458 responses and according to our results, the overall CEO approval rating is 6.97 out of 10. This is comparable to recent data from Glassdoor, which reports an average CEO approval of 69 percent.

When we take a look at the data for the 20 companies with the most employee responses, this is what we find: Netflix CEO Reed Hastings has an average approval rating of 9.44 out of 10. Hastings and Adobe’s Shantanu Narayen are the only CEOs who have an average score of 9 or higher in our survey.

At the other end of the spectrum, Intel’s now former CEO Brian Krzanich has the lowest approval rating with an average 3.23 out of 10. Coincidentally, news of Krzanich’s forced departure spread as we were tallying up our survey results. Snapchat’s Evan Spiegel, Airbnb’s Brian Chesky, and Expedia’s Mark Okerstrom also made the bottom of the list with scores under a 5 out of 10.
